Building Godly Confidence

The temptation to compare and contrast our lives is constantly in front of us as we scroll and binge-watch. Watching the highlight reels can speak doubts, insecurities, and fears into our minds about our purpose, our meaning, and our identity.  The world has a lot of opinions out there about how to live your best life! When your students face this reality, what is your role to help them build Godly confidence in who God made them to be?

Life and death are in the tongue. Our words matter to God and to others!

Proverbs 18:21 says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”

Your words have the power to build up your kids in their identity and purpose by the words you speak over them in conversation and in prayer. Your kids can experience a Spirit-filled life when they experience the powerful Word of God in their everyday situations. Here are some ways to speak life and pray for Godly confidence over your kids!

Conversations

Philippians 4:13 says, “I can do all this through him who gives me strength.”

You can do this because your strength comes from God! You’ve got this.

Joshua 1:9 says, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

God is with you; you are never alone!

Philippians 4:6 says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”

Let’s bring this to God in prayer. He will take care of you!

Prayers with Scripture

Philippians 4:19 says, “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”

Jesus, would you meet my child’s needs today? Help them conquer fear and walk confidently with the assurance You give them. Amen.

Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

God, would you make my child’s path straight? Show them what You say about their identity and their future! Amen.

Psalm 16:11 says, “You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.”

Father, would you give my child joy in Your presence? Would you make known to them the path of life that is only found in You? Amen.

Speak the Word of God over your family and over everyday situations to watch how God brings confidence, peace, and life!
