Summary
Part 1 of 3 of a series on three spiritual disciplines. Part 1 is focused on Prayer. In its simplest form, prayer is talking to God. Just like we keep in regular communication with our friends and family, we should be consistent in prayer so we can continue to grow in our relationship with the Father. In Hebrews 4:15-16, we learn about how to pray through the life of Jesus. Jesus is our "high priest" who went through the same things we go through as humans - temptation, suffering, etc. He understands our pain. We also learn that Jesus did something about it - he prayed to the Father who could help Him in his time of need. We can pray for a lot of different things, and it's critical for our relationship with God that we establish this relationship and communication with Him. It can seem daunting, but the most important first step is simply to start! You can also pray with others and ask God to show you ways to grow as you get into a rhythm with him.
