Summary
Part 3 of 4 in a series on what it means to follow Jesus regularly, not just on Sundays. In Mark 10, Jesus encounters a wealthy man who asks Jesus "What must I do to be saved?" Jesus responds with a list that ends with "Sell everything and give it to the poor, then come follow me." The man is saddened because he thought he was doing well by Jesus because he was living a good MORAL life, but this is not the way to heaven. Unfortunately, many of us operate like it is the way to heaven - if we are nice enough, patient enough, etc. we will earn our spot in eternity. This passage teaches us that Jesus asks us to give our entire lives - our hearts, minds, and comfort - to serve Him.
