Summary
Part 2 of 4 in a series on what it means to follow Jesus regularly, not just on Sundays. Jesus called the disciples and said "I will make you fishers of men." Following Jesus was not just about devotion to him, but it was also a call to mission. Right after the disciples leave their boats, Jesus goes out to heal the sick, lame, and the hurting - those that we might describe as "poor". He shows the disciples his mission is not about increased fame and fortune, but to go out into the world and bring light to the darkness (Matthew 5). As his followers today, we are not meant to stay AWAY from broken people, we are meant to be with them all the time!
