We live in a world that glorifies the counterfeit, generic version of sexuality. Instead of understanding the real thing, many people have fallen for a cheap substitute. Culture tells us that it’s better to settle for less than what God desires for sex. Waiting for the “real thing” is looked down upon, and too often people fall prey to this pressure to rush into sex before they should. It leaves people broken and confused, and it isn’t what God wanted for any of us. Over the next six weeks, you’ll study our spiritual and sexual DNA as image-bearers of God. Throughout the Old and New Testaments, Scripture teaches us that our spiritual & sexual identities are intertwined very deeply. In fact, they cannot be separated. Our sexuality is part of who we are as people made in the image of God. The ways that we express this part of our identity is critical for living holy lives in an unholy world.
