How To Help When It Comes To School And Faith

Is your student struggling to stand strong in their faith in school?

School can be a very difficult place for students to live out their faith, but it can also be the most exciting place!

Perspective matters!

Moving from worldly negativity to godly perspectives is so important to your student’s success at school.

Try these perspective shifts with your students when they talk about school:

    • I had to sit beside “Chloe” ➔ God must have put “Chloe” beside me in class so I could show her the love of God this semester
    • “John” is so mean to me ➔ “John” must be dealing with a lot of hurt, I should pray for him
    • I hate school ➔ School might possibly be the largest mission field I’ll ever have, I’m going to make these years count

Pray for your students to have good Christian friends at school.  Pray that God would surround them with people who will encourage them in their faith, not tear it down.

Pray 1 Corinthians 16:13-14 over your student:

“Dear God, Please help ______to be on his/her guard, to stand firm in the faith, to be courageous, to be strong.  Help __________ to do everything in love.”

Encourage your student to attend or start a Claim Your Campus (CYC) prayer group at their school.  This will help them see their school as their mission field and connect them with other believers on the same mission.  See more at claimyourcampus.com.

We’re standing with you!
